PROCEDURES FOR ENROLLING YOUR CHILD

IN KINDERGARTEN

Your child to be enrolled for Kindergarten should have turned five years of age by 31st July in the year of commencement.

Step 1
Obtain the Application for Enrolment form from the School Secretary and pay the non refundable enrolment fee ($50.00).
Complete the Application for Enrolment form.
Attach copies of the child’s:           
- Birth Certificate
- Immunisation Certificate
- Baptism Certificate (if baptised at Regina Coeli - this is not necessary)
Return to the office by end of May.


Step 2

IF your application meets the published eligibility for enrolment criteria (as outlined in the Enrolment Policy included in your package) you will be invited to meet with the Principal or Assistant Principal.
An appointment for a ‘readiness’ screening for your child will also be made.


Step 3

The Principal or Assistant Principal meets with the parent/s in order to discuss the child, family and school.  Any queries, concerns, issues can be covered during this interview. 
Your prospective Kindergarten student will be screened by a staff member, using “Developmental Tasks for Kindergarten Readiness”.


Step 4

The Enrolment Committee, consisting of Parish Priest, Parent Community Representatives and Principal, convenes to consider the applications in the light of the School’s Enrolment policy.  (All information is strictly confidential).
The Enrolment Committee will offer acceptances of enrolment by letter until its determined number of places has been filled.
Alternatively, a place on the waiting list may be offered.


Step 5   

Parents confirm that they accept the offer of enrolment.
